20-year-old Jonathon Cook was arrested Friday after an undercover investigation. He was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of a dangerous weapon, possession of a gun without a permit and having drugs near a school. Police found 15 bags of marijuana, a scale and other paraphernalia, and three weapons: a shotgun, a set of brass knuckles, and a double-edged throwing knife during a search of the home he shared with his parents. Cook claims that his stepfather, Suffolk University law professor Timothy Wilton, helped him build a room to grow marijuana in exchange for some of the profits. He also states that his mother and former president of the Women’s Bar Association of Massachusetts, Kathy Jo Cook, made him burn the marijuana plants before calling police after a home invasion earlier in the month.
